At Millstone Farm, 10600 Cosby Mill Road, Quinton, VA in New Kent County
Come out to New Kent (just east of Richmond) and join your friends in a relaxing (or competitive) ride over beautiful property that offers open fields, wooded trails and lovely ponds. The course is designed with every level of rider in mind. All jumps can be ridden around for those who do not want to jump.
Food will be available for sale or bring your own picnic lunch. Western Rider Welcome
Divisions
First Flight: Starting time is 10:30 a.m. with 3 minute intervals between teams. Teams will move out at what is considered a moderate hunting pace, jumping obstacles to exceed 2' 3" with the final jump to be taken in tandem.
Hill Toppers: Teams ride at pleasure ride pace, jumping is optional. Teams may include riders in western tack.
Juniors: Teams must include at least one junior rider (under age 18) and will ride at a pleasure ride pace with jumps optional. Teams may include riders in western tack.
(Starting time for Hill Toppers and Juniors will begin on a first come basis, 3 minutes after the last First Flight Team starts out and will continue at 3 minute intervals between teams)
Competition Details
6 Ribbons will awarded in every division. Placement is based on the six team closest to the optimum time that was pre-determined for each division by the Master of Colonial Fox Hounds Hunt.
Teams may consist of 2 to 3 riders. Riders may join several teams (each team requires another entry fee)
Approved Helmets are required for all English Riders, all juniors and anyone who will be jumping.
Negative Coggns is required for all horses on the grounds.
Entry Fees: $25.00 per rider, per team, per division
All Riders will sign a waiver and riders under age 18 will require parental/guardian signature
Directions: From East - Take I-64 West, take Bottoms Bridge Exit 205, turn right off exit onto Rt. 249, drive less the 1/2 mile, take a left on 611/613, then an immediate right on 611 (Quaker Rd.), cross RR tracks, at top of hill take right on 638, Cosby Mill Rd., drive less than 3 miles, Millstone Farm is on the left, stone pillars, large metal gate.
From West - Take I-64, take Bottom Bridge Exit 205, turn left off exit onto Rt. 249 and follow directions above.
